Ahmad Hamid’s Venice Biennale exhibit, entitled ‘project 10 architectural collages,’ in which he combined, in a stylized decor, silhouettes and objects of desire, with his own architectural projects. “These collages attempt to bring more public appeal to my work and to befriend mass culture,” wrote the architect in the brief about the exhibit. All the background patterns in the collages derive from geometric patterns that are structural motifs of Hamid’s extensive forty patchworks collection designs.
